Transformation – Not Treatment
The biggest difference between Freedom City Ministries and a traditional recovery center is our focus on Christ. Our programs depend on the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s word to provide our students with a guiding light. Treatment is important, but transformation is key!
Discipleship & Evangelism
Through our Bible-based curriculum, students learn how to apply God’s Word to their lives. They also learn to recognize the Holy Spirit’s work in their lives, invite God to help them overcome their life-controlling problems, and become more like Christ.
Long-Term Residential Programs
The 12 month time frame provides ample opportunity for adults and teens to confront their destructive choices, their self-sabotaging behavior, and their unhealthy views. It then gives them a safe place to establish a new “normal”— assured of the love of God and under the guidance of Biblical principles.
We base the curriculum and community of our addiction recovery center on God’s Word—the Bible. Addiction recovery centers that offer practical, appropriate, and accessible Bible-based courses facilitate the transition from alcoholism and substance abuse to a life of freedom in Christ. At Abba House, we offer a chance to start over, become a new person, live a godly life, and find freedom through a restored purpose and an eternal hope. We do this through classes, individual study, personal mentoring, work ethics training, and involvement in the Christian community.

Addiction & Life-Controlling Problems
What is addiction? Addiction is a progressive loss of control over the use of a substance or behavior. The user becomes obsessed with the substance or behavior despite adverse consequences. They deny the existence of a problem if confronted. Addiction does not just affect the individual person. It is also damaging to families, relationships, careers, and many other aspects of life.
There are many other problems, besides drugs and alcohol, that have the potential to do as much damage as substance abuse. In fact, substance abuse is often symptomatic of much deeper life-controlling problems. People struggling with these issues can also benefit from an addiction recovery program.
Lifestyle addictions cover a wide array of issues that affect many people. Poor self-image, violence and anger issues, eating disorders, and sexual addiction are some common examples of lifestyle addictions. Our Christ-centered approach offers the time and space for those who are struggling to experience God’s love and grace.
